Knowledge and Technology Transfer

Switzerland is a prime location for medical technology (medtech) companies, geographically centered around the greater Bern area. It lies at the heart of one of the world’s leading medtech region, which also includes the neighbouring areas of France, Germany and Italy. The Swiss medtech industry is among the largest and most diversified in Europe with several very successful sub-segments. This may explain the important role knowledge and technology transfer (KTT) plays within the Biomedical Engineering research groups at the University of Bern. For this reason the ARTORG Center has become a key partner of the Competence Center for Medical Technology (CCMT) and is supported by the official KTT office of the University of Bern Unitectra.
