PhD Thesis Defense Eric Buffle

The ARTORG Center congratulates Eric Buffle for successfully defending his PhD thesis on 14 December 2022! For his research on “Opening behaviour of normal and stenotic aortic valves in low-ﬂow situations” Eric investigated different diagnostic approaches for aortic valve stenosis needing replacement through a clinical experiment, an in-vitro experiment and finally validation in a large and diverse patient collective. With his team he was able to create a nomogram to be used in the clinic to assess aortic stenosis severity of any valve size at any transvalvular flow rate with a sigmoid model.
