The Acoustic Robotics Systems Lab (ARSL), headed by Prof. Daniel Ahmed, is engaged in developing innovative, cutting-edge research in micro- and nanorobotics and systems for life science applications, diagnostics, and translational medicine.
New developments in robotics and in vivo manipulation systems will have significant impacts in the fields of cancer research, brain research, and vasculature biology. These technologies will help improve the understanding of diseases and be used in the development of relevant treatments. Our research will provide a clear pathway towards using these technologies in humans. Our goal is to pursue interdisciplinary, cutting-edge research in micro/nanorobotics and micro/nanosystems for applications in biomedical engineering, diagnostics, and medicine using ultrasound. Our research will focus on i) the development of in vivo acoustic manipulation systems; ii) the development of multifunctional robotics systems; and iii) the translation of the new technologies into diagnostic and healthcare applications.
