The Medical Sensing Laboratory operates optical facilities specialising in polarization instrumentation. MSL designs and build benchtop and handled devices to enable novel imaging modalities focusing on real-time, non-invasive diagnostics used for tissue medicine, pathology and surgery. The lab is equipped with an optical table and a range of detectors operating at visible wavelengths, opto-mechanical components, ferro-liquid crystal devices, rotating motors and polarimetric modulators.
Data produced by MSL instruments are then employed for advanced data processing by other groups at the ARTORG.
