The Master’s program in Artificial Intelligence in Medicine (MSc AIM) is designed for graduated students with a degree in engineering, informatics, mathematics or physics. The program aims to give graduates a solid understanding of the principles of artificial intelligence and machine learning, so that they can apply this knowledge to design, develop and evaluate intelligent systems across the medical and clinical lifecycle. The program will train the next generation of the AI work force, and enable them to drive entrepreneurial, technical and practical innovation for tomorrow’s healthcare.

Addressing the high need for well trained engineering professionals, the University of Bern offers a Master's program in Biomedical Engineering. It is assigned to the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Bern, and is offered in cooperation with the Bern University of Applied Sciences. The goal is to educate students in the interdisciplinary fields of engineering and medicine. Students in the master's program receive sound instruction in the traditional engineering and human medicine disciplines, exposure to specialized topics in biomedical engineering and practical training in the form of supervised research projects. The program offers subtracks in Biomechanical Systems, Electronic Implants or Image Guided Therapy.

The Biomedical Engineering PhD Program is regulated by the Graduate School for Cellular and Biomedical Sciences (GCB) of the University of Bern. It is jointly administered by the Faculties of Medicine, Science and Vetsuisse and offers structured, experimental research training programs leading to a PhD or MD-PhD degree.
