Clinical Partners
The group was established in 2010 with the support of Prof. Dr. med. Thomas Geiser, head of the Division of Pulmonary Medicine, and Prof. Dr. med. Ralph Schmid, then head of the Division of Thoracic Surgery, at the Bern University Hospital (Inselspital). Both divisions have been partners ever since, now with Prof. Dr. med. Patrick Dorn in Thoracic Surgery, and this collaboration gives us access to human lung tissue from patients undergoing surgery, which is the basis of all our primary and patient-derived cell work.
